Natural Skincare for a Glowy Holiday

Hi lovely people, it’s been so long since I have published a blog post on here! I have been writing a lot on Instagram lately instead, but I really love this format because I can write more than a few sentences!

I have been getting so into natural beauty products as I remove all the toxic products from my cabinet.

Why did I stop using conventional beauty products? As BeautyCounter put it,

“Over the past two decades, the European Union has banned close to 1,400 chemicals in the product formulas of personal care products and restricted the levels of over 250 more in such products. The United States has only partially banned 30 to date.”

So even if we eat a healthy diet, we’re loading our bodies with chemicals every day, which get absorbed straight into our bloodstream. Pretty crazy. Luckily, for the past few years I have been trying out many organic, nontoxic balms, lotions, creams, and makeups, and I am so excited to share my favorites with you today.

Plus, I realized that a lot of these products, because they are so special, would make great gifts for the holidays.

A quick note: this post is not sponsored by anyone, and I am not making money from this post in any way.

Now, let’s get into it!

In this post, I will share my favorite all-natural:

  • Face lotion
  • Lip Balm
  • Blush
  • Lipstick
  • Mascara
  • Body butter
  • Body oil
  • Deodorant

I hope this helps you feel less stressed about finding healthy skincare products. Let me know if you try any of these, or if you have any favorites that I should try!

To be honest, I wash my face with hot water every night, and no soap. That’s it. I have fairly low-maintenance skin, but I also have not yet found a face wash that doesn’t make me break out.

However, I started using OSEA products after doing a shoot with them, and I love their Blemish Balm! It’s very lightweight but also moisturizing. And I have found that it actually does help get rid of my blemishes overnight!

I also love this BOOMsilk lotion that I use for my face. Though it is olive-oil based, it has never made me break out. It’s super moisturizing, and great for those super dry winter days.

If you have not tried Drifter Organics products yet, you need to. The company was created by the amazing Micaela Hoo and her mom. All of their products are made from wholesome ingredients, with love.

Micaela sent me their Smile Balm Lip Balm, and I was amazed by how it kept my (usually chapped) lips fresh all day.

For blush, I love this Amareta All-Over Flush. It has a great peachy color, and I find it is much more vibrant than other natural blushes I have tried. It also makes a great lipstick.

100% Pure makes super legit organic makeup products (as well as a ton of other things), and I love their lipsticks and glosses. My fav is their Fruit Pigmented Lip & Cheek Tint, which I use for both my lips and cheeks. I have it in Strawberry and Peach. These ones are milder in pigment than the Amareta, but I like them both a lot.

The best natural mascara I have found so far is also by 100% Pure, and it’s the Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara in Black Tea. Just know that is a bit lighter and less thick than conventional mascara.

Now to my favorite part: body butter!!! If you haven’t heard of body butter before, it’s basically a very thick lotion that’s perfect for rubbing on your arms and legs. My very favorite it the Drifter Organics Serenity Now. I also like the Barefoot In The Park one (which comes back in stock in the spring) and the Neutralizer.

Drifter also makes luscious body oils, which are lighter than the body butter, but still super moisturizing. I love using it after I dry brush! My favorite one is the Imaginary Picnic (plus, how cute is that name?!)

I saved best for last: deodorant. We all know the woes of trying a non-toxic deodorant. You feel so great about your healthy purchase, only to come home each day smelling horrible, our clothes stained with sweat. It sucks. Luckily, I found the best natural deodorant ever, and you’re gonna love it. It’s Primally Pure’s Lavender Deodorant. It works like a charm, and is by far the best natural deodorant brand I have ever had. If you give this to that special someone for Christmas, they will be eternally grateful. Nothing is better than giving the gift of no BO. 😉

Happy Winter, everyone!

Your skin looks so amazing. I wish I can achieve that glowing skin too. I’ve been trying all things to have glowing skin but none of it works.

Thanks!! But it’s important for me to say that my skin is NOT always glowy! We just photographed on a good day! And I was wearing face lotion that made it look shiny!
